Weekly Bible Studies
Service Description
Twice a month, come and participate in Bible study sessions where good humor and a spirit of fraternal communion reign. Study methodology: We use the OIA method (Observation – Interpretation – Application). The first part "Observation" consists, following a careful reading of the text, in situating it (author, recipient, place, date, context). The second part of the observation applies to defining the words that may pose a problem. Finally, in a third step, it is necessary to identify for each section studied, a main idea which consists of a short summary. The second part "Interpretation" which is the longest, consists of searching for the meaning and discovering the teaching given. The interpretation consists of tracing the message of the text by defining why it was written and what it means (for the time and for today). The third part "Application" allows the reader to ask themselves the following questions and answer them: - What does the passage tell me? - What have I discovered? - What does the text teach me (relearn) about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit? - About myself, those around me? - What does this text encourage me to do? - What is there to change in me? With others? With God? - Am I being challenged? How can I apply it in my life? - How will I respond to God based on what I have learned? The text to be studied is sent to you one week before the bi-monthly meetings. Everyone comes having worked on the text according to the OIA method and all are invited during the session to share the results of their reflections on the text.
